There are 4 reasons that make Pietro Rosa TBM
beneficial to your turbine assembly line:

1) We deliver your blades on time, always.

Making such a commitment means having heavily invested in people, equipment and know-how. Over the last 7 years Pietro Rosa TBM has built a cellularized forging plant from the green field equipped with the latest technology machinery and, adjacent to it, a new machining plant has been designed and set up applying Lean Manufacturing principles. Within these plants each blade goes through the production process controlled by the Advanced Planning System (APS) and is certified by rigorous quality measurements and control tests.

2) We manufacture blades meeting your specifications 100%, always.

Our Customers have qualified us in more than 40 processes, from procurement of raw material to delivery of engine-ready blades. We complete them with further special processes like brazing, shot peening, laser hardening, coating and frequency tests.

We measure the performance of each production phase and the data are processed to take corrective actions. We have introduced and patented a no-contact optical measuring system which, along with 7 contact 3D Zeiss measuring systems, collect each blade’s geometrical data. These data are transferred to the subsequent working station, allowing the optimal calibration of all the production activities. Finally they are recorded on the accompanying data records.

We perform all the main non-destructive tests (NDT) in house as for example: fluorescent penetrant inspections, ultrasonic inspections, magnetic particles inspections. Our procedures are approved for NDT according to AS7003 aerospace standards of the National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program (NADCAP). We have sealed our quality with the most important certifications, starting with ISO 9001 and Aerospace Quality System NADCAP - AC7004.

3) We come up with solutions overcoming your constraints of time, design and budget, always.

To find and propose alternative solutions and new ideas, you must rely on experience and have the latest know how at hand.
Since 1956, when we produced our first turbine blade, we have delivered more than 1000 different types of parts made of more than 30 different materials. We master envelope forging, precision forging and heat treatments of special materials such as:

  • all grades of steel alloys (austenitic, martensitic, precipitation hardening, maraging and others);
  • titanium alloys (both industrial and military specifications);
  • nickel based alloys (nimonic, inconel, udimet).

Today Pietro Rosa TBM invests a consistent share of its revenues in R&D projects. With the help of major research institutions as the University of Padua, the company develops physical and numerical simulations techniques to enhance its core competences in the fields of forging, machining and metrology.

4) We take care of you through unpredictable markets, always.

A proven tollgate process rules all the steps from design to serial production through the complexity of prototyping.
Customers are assisted by a dedicated Account Manager who acts as a single point of contact for all the exchanges of information. He is the forefront coordinator of a Customer Care System that provides you with all the engineering, planning, manufacturing and quality support when the market asks for flexible response, immediate action and new product introduction.
